Scope: Writer and artist within the published and officially announced BRZRKR record.
Steve Skroce joins Keanu Reeves on BRZRKR: Poetry of Madness as writer and artist, creating the first historical one-shot and its Atlantis-scale combination of political decay, ritual, and cosmic horror.
BRZRKR record
BOOM! announced Skroce as the collaborator responsible for bringing the Atlantis story to the comics, with Dave Stewart on color. Skroce also provided the main cover, while additional variants were credited separately.
Why it matters
His dual writing-and-art role gives Poetry of Madness a unified visual and narrative identity distinct from the numbered series. The special expands B’s history without pretending that Atlantis is part of an objective real-world chronology.
BRZRKR changes creative teams as it moves from the twelve-issue series into historical specials, prose, and announced screen work. Credit therefore belongs to a particular publication and role. A contribution to one branch does not imply work on every issue, and cover work remains distinct from interior storytelling.
Credits are most useful when they explain what changed on the finished work. Writing determines structure and language; interior art determines bodies, spaces, and visual sequence; color establishes atmosphere and separation; lettering controls the visible sound and pace of words; design and covers establish the publication’s outward identity. Each role contributes authorship without erasing the others.
Confirmed limits
Skroce’s credit belongs to Poetry of Madness and its related Pen & Ink presentation, not to every historical BRZRKR special.
Unconfirmed dates, credits, contents, formats, or story connections remain open. Later official material can extend the record, but it should not be anticipated as fact.
