Scope: Writer within the published and officially announced BRZRKR record.
Marjorie Liu writes BRZRKR: The Bleeding Tide, the maritime special that finds B re-forming inside an iron box and draws him into the Captain’s conflict with a supernatural family history.
BRZRKR record
BOOM! announced Liu with artist Garry Brown for the November 2025 one-shot. The story is scheduled to be collected with Light Draws Breath in BRZRKR: Blood Oaths Vol. 1.
Why it matters
Liu’s contribution expands BRZRKR beyond government science and ancient kingship into a shipboard community shaped by secrecy, rescue, vampirism, and sorcery.
BRZRKR changes creative teams as it moves from the twelve-issue series into historical specials, prose, and announced screen work. Credit therefore belongs to a particular publication and role. A contribution to one branch does not imply work on every issue, and cover work remains distinct from interior storytelling.
Credits are most useful when they explain what changed on the finished work. Writing determines structure and language; interior art determines bodies, spaces, and visual sequence; color establishes atmosphere and separation; lettering controls the visible sound and pace of words; design and covers establish the publication’s outward identity. Each role contributes authorship without erasing the others.
Confirmed limits
The maritime supernatural system is not confirmed as another expression of the Source. Publication descriptions should not merge the mechanisms simply because both involve blood and survival.
Unconfirmed dates, credits, contents, formats, or story connections remain open. Later official material can extend the record, but it should not be anticipated as fact.
