Spoilers: This article covers the government's B-replication project and its outcome in BRZRKR #10-12.

The Franken-B specimen is the dormant B-derived body assembled within the government's secret replication project. “Specimen” describes the body while it remains contained and treated as research material; Franken-B is the program's later name for the being that becomes active. The separate Franken-B character record follows what happens after that transition.

Construction

The project uses material left from B's past missions. Blood, tissue, and larger remains are valuable because B's cells do not behave like ordinary human material. The government converts those remains into an assembled body in the hope of reproducing the advantages of B without depending on his consent.

The result is not established as a conventional genetic clone. The original series describes a misguided clone project made from leftover body parts. That language supports a composite B-derived organism while leaving the exact assembly method unknown.

Dormancy and activation

The body is initially unsuccessful, dormant, or abandoned. During the Source-contact event, energy associated with the same escalation that powers the hypercomputer animates Franken-B. The being then leaves containment and disappears.

The event shows that B-derived matter alone was not enough to produce the final active state. It does not prove whether Source energy created consciousness, restored a dormant one, or triggered regenerative integration. Those mechanisms remain unresolved.

From object to person

The word “specimen” becomes inadequate once the being can move and act independently. The government created Franken-B from B without meaningful consent, but biological derivation does not make the new life B's property either. The original series does not confirm copied memories, loyalty to Caldwell, hostility toward B, or a chosen identity.

Significance

The specimen is the clearest consequence of treating B's body as reusable material. It begins as an institutional object and ends as an autonomous unknown. Its escape leaves the original program unable to control the life it tried to manufacture.
