Scope: Subsequent print runs of an issue within the published and officially announced BRZRKR record.
A later printing republishes an existing issue after the first printing, often with a new cover or altered trade dress.
BRZRKR record
BOOM! has announced later printings for BRZRKR specials including Fallen Empire and A Faceful of Bullets, naming the new cover and release information.
Why it matters
Printing order matters because two copies with the same issue title can be distinct official objects while containing the same story.
Collecting information describes publication objects rather than story continuity. A foil treatment, signature, retailer logo, grading label, or new cover can make a copy distinct without adding a new event to B’s life. Official publisher and edition records carry more weight than undated resale descriptions.
A dependable description begins with facts visible on the object or stated by the publisher: issue or book title, printing, credited artist, market, finish, and packaging. Condition, signature provenance, grading, completeness, and ownership belong to the individual copy. Separating edition identity from copy condition prevents scarcity, price, and canon from being confused with one another.
Confirmed limits
A later printing is not a sequel. Distributor sellout language also does not mean that every first-print copy has disappeared from retailers.
Unconfirmed dates, credits, contents, formats, or story connections remain open. Later official material can extend the record, but it should not be anticipated as fact.
