Scope: Copies bearing creator signatures within the published and officially announced BRZRKR record.
A signed edition is an existing issue, volume, or print with one or more authenticated creator signatures.
BRZRKR record
The original Kickstarter offered signed prints at upper tiers and stated that BOOM! would provide certificates of authenticity for those signatures. Other signed copies require their own provenance.
Why it matters
A signature adds object history and a direct connection to a creator without changing the printed story.
Collecting information describes publication objects rather than story continuity. A foil treatment, signature, retailer logo, grading label, or new cover can make a copy distinct without adding a new event to B’s life. Official publisher and edition records carry more weight than undated resale descriptions.
A dependable description begins with facts visible on the object or stated by the publisher: issue or book title, printing, credited artist, market, finish, and packaging. Condition, signature provenance, grading, completeness, and ownership belong to the individual copy. Separating edition identity from copy condition prevents scarcity, price, and canon from being confused with one another.
Confirmed limits
A signature must not be assigned to a creator without evidence. A signed print and a signed book are different objects.
Unconfirmed dates, credits, contents, formats, or story connections remain open. Later official material can extend the record, but it should not be anticipated as fact.
