The Virginia safehouse standoff occurs in BRZRKR #12 after B's relationship with Diana and the government's treatment of him have changed. Keever receives orders to kill B. Diana interrupts the confrontation by cutting the power and threatening Keever's life, making clear that the people issuing orders cannot assume she remains a passive participant in the research program. Keever lets them leave. The importance of this scene is his choice not to complete the demanded killing, a decision that places personal loyalty against military command. It is not the large armed attack in which helicopters and soldiers strike B and Diana's family. That later assault happens at the Southwest refuge after the twins have been born. The distinction preserves the narrative's chronology: a standoff creates an opportunity for escape, while the later refuge battle leads to B's mortal injury.
